Chapter 1: "The Protagonist and The Unknown Woman"

Avik walked through the chaotic streets of Kolkata, his eyes darting around in search of his next big story. As a journalist, he was always looking for something unusual that would grab the reader's attention. Lost in thought, Avik was taken by surprise when a woman appeared in front of him. She was dressed in a simple cotton saree, and her hair was tied in a messy bun. Avik couldn't tell how old she was, but her eyes looked ancient, wise beyond their years.

"Avik," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I need your help."

Avik was intrigued. He didn't know the woman, but there was something about her that drew him in. "What do you need?" he asked.

The woman hesitated, as if unsure of how to proceed. "My daughter," she finally said. "She's disappeared. The police won't help me. I don't know what to do."

Avik could see the desperation in her eyes, and his heart went out to her. "I'll do what I can," he said. "Where was she last seen?"

The woman gave him an address, and Avik promised to follow up on it. But as he turned to leave, he heard a strange sound behind him, like the fluttering of wings. When he turned back around, the woman was gone. Avik shrugged it off, assuming that she had simply walked away. But as he started his investigation, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. The police were uncooperative, and there were no leads to follow.

Days turned into weeks, and Avik's investigation hit a dead end. But he couldn't forget about the woman and her missing daughter. He kept digging, determined to uncover the truth. One night, as he was working late at the office, Avik heard the fluttering sound again. This time, he knew it was real. He turned around, and there she was: the woman from before.

"Avik," she said, her voice urgent. "You have to stop. It's not safe for you to keep looking."

"What do you mean?" Avik asked. "What's going on?"

But the woman just shook her head. "I can't tell you," she said. "Just promise me you'll stop."

Avik hesitated. He didn't like giving up on a story, but he could sense that something was wrong. "Okay," he said reluctantly. "I'll stop. But can you at least tell me your name?"

The woman smiled sadly. "I'm sorry," she said. "I can't even do that."

And with that, she disappeared again, leaving Avik alone in the office. As Avik pondered the strange encounter, he realized he had a new mystery to solve: who was the unknown woman, and why did she disappear? The answers may be the key to unlocking the larger conspiracy brewing in Kolkata.

Avik spent the rest of the day trying to make sense of what had happened. He went to the police station, but they dismissed him as a prankster. He tried to track down the woman, but no one seemed to know who she was. As the sun began to set, Avik realized that the woman's warning may be linked to a series of unexplained events happening in the city. People were disappearing without a trace, strange symbols were appearing on the walls of buildings, and rumours of a secret society were spreading. Determined to uncover the truth, Avik began his investigation. But little did he know that he was about to unravel a mind-bending conspiracy that would challenge his beliefs and perception of reality.

Avik spent the next few days investigating the strange occurrences around the city. He talked to witnesses, visited crime scenes, and gathered whatever evidence he could find. But the more he uncovered, the more confused he became. The pieces didn't seem to fit together, and every lead he followed led to a dead end.
